Cindy Hwang is the Director of Booking, Far East & Middle East for Cadenza Artists LLC. Previously, she served as the West Coast and Asia Pacific agent for Concert Artists Guild (CAG), a non-profit management agency dedicated to nurturing and developing young classical musicians. In addition to booking concerts, master classes, and residency activities, she has mentored and helped to launch the careers of numerous talented artists. Prior to joining CAG, Cindy worked at CAMI (Columbia Artists Management), where she co-produced Tan Dun’s premiere of “The Map” and organized the premier of the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music in North America at Arts International in Morocco. Following the panel, she coordinated several presenters’ attendance to the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music.
Cindy began her career at BMG International Artist and Repertoire (A&R) where she liaised with its Asian offices to bridge the cross-over of Asian artists to the US. She organized the first BMG Pan-Asia A&R Conference in Beijing, personally handling all logistics associated with the event. Most recently, Cindy produced the JC Penney Asian Excellence Awards show in Los Angeles, which has the distinctive designation of being the first nationally broadcasted Asian-American awards show in America. Cindy received her B.A. in Music Business and M.A. in Music Ecology from New York University. A New York City transplant, Cindy moved to Southern California in 2006. She and her husband Stephen are proud new parents to a baby son, Lucas.
