Mr. John Washington has 30 plus years experience as an entrepreneur, community advocate, cultural responsive consultant, urban developer and national multi-media producer. As CEO of Flossin Media, he publishes a successful quarterly, Flossin Magazine, is an Editorial Advisor to authors, including contributing perspective to Professor Matt Hern for his book, “What A City’s For: Remaking the Politics of Displacement”. He also directs Flossin in its role as the Outreach and PR firm for Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives and their “Pathway 1000 Implementation Plan”, a displacement mitigation strategy for African-Americans. He is the Chair of the Soul District Business Association and lead facilitator of the “Green Lighting Black Lives Matter Youth Media Project”, where he instills his long taught philosophy of connecting people of color with their senses of capability, significance and influence. He has guided public art projects chairing Prosper Portland’s Vanport 2 Development Design Committee working with leadership at the Regional Arts & Cultural Council to provide a culturally responsive lense to community identity.
