Marina Osthoff Magalhães
Marina Magalhães is a seasoned dancer, educator, and award-winning choreographer from Brazil, based in Los Angeles. Magalhães hails from UCLA's Department of World Arts & Cultures/Dance and has performed with Victoria Marks, Maria Bauman, Vera Passos, Viver Brasil, and in 2009-2013 with CONTRA-TIEMPO as a touring company member and Assistant Artistic Director. In 2013 she received the LA Weekly Theater Award for Best Choreography, and in 2014 debuted her critically acclaimed work, (UN)BRIDALED, recently set on a South African cast for the annual Human Rights & Social Justice Festival in Johannesburg. Magalhães is currently on faculty at UCLA and sharing her movement research, "Decolonizing the Body Through Dance", throughout the US, Brazil and Southern Africa.
