RENAE WILLIAMS NILES is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance at USC and has worked in the arts for 25 years. For over 11 years she worked for The Music Center eventually becoming Vice President of Programming, where she curated the presentation of over 50 internationally-acclaimed ballet and contemporary companies, partnered with other major institutions including the LA Philharmonic and Center Theatre Group, she also oversaw family programming and DIY/participatory art making. Before joining The Music Center she served as the Director of Grant Programs for the L.A. County Arts Commission, Marketing/Special Projects Manager for Grand Performances and Apprentice Dancer and Company Manager with the Lula Washington Dance Theatre. She has served on the Board of Trustees for Dance/USA, was President of the Western Arts Alliance (WAA) and currently on the national board for the Association of Performing Arts Professionals. In addition to guest curating, mentoring and consulting with artists, administrators and presenters, she serves on the advisory boards of the Dizzy Feet Foundation, BODYTRAFFIC and New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project. Renae has served as a grants panelist for the Entertainment Industry Foundation, the James Irvine Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, United States Artists, as well as an anonymous nominator for major national foundations. She received a BA in Journalism, Public Relations from USC and recently co-created and co-taught a Performing Arts Management course for Claremont Graduate University. She is also the recipient of the 2017 Service to WAA and the field award.
