Yesenia Navarette-Hunter

Yesenia Navarrete Hunter is a Mexican mother of four now living in Los Angeles. She is an immigrant and was a farmworker in Washington State. Yesenia is a graduate student at USC’s Graduate History Program, a writer, community artist, founder of the Yakima Fandango Community, member of the Seattle Fandango Project, and organizer with the Women Who Rock Community. Her art is fueled by her role as a mother and is deeply influenced by the music, poetry and practice of the fandango.
