Harper Brokaw-Falbo joined WAA as the Membership & Communications Manager in December of 2019. She recently moved back to Portland OR. after a decade in the Bay Area and a stint in New York. She has held roles at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (the de Young & Legion of Honor), AIGA SF (the Professional Association for Design) and San Francisco Design Week. She was a 2016-2017 Helena Rubinstein Fellow in Critical Studies at the Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program where she completed a research project under the guidance of Rosalyn Deutsche. She was a Graduate Student Co-Director for the San Francisco Art Institute’s Diego Rivera Gallery, where she received her M.A. in the History and Theory of Contemporary Art in 2016. She is passionate about providing artists and their representatives the resources they need to create sustainable, and financially secure careers, especially in an era of changing urban and digital artistic landscapes.
Harper has a semi-dormant writing practice, as most of her free time is devoted to her Australian Labradoodle, Alvar, and rediscovering her hometown.
