Western Arts Alliance (WAA) announces a call for Indigenous performing artists to apply for the 2019 AIP Native Launchpad, beginning Monday, February 18, 2019.
Submission deadline: April 26, 5:00 pm PST
Native Launchpad provides U.S.-based Indigenous artists with tools and resources needed to further their careers and introduce them to the world of arts presenting and management. Native Launchpad will help create opportunity and sustainability for individual Native artists through financial support, professional development opportunities, strategic promotions and networking. Each artist will receive direct financial and travel support, mentoring/coaching, professional development and promotional benefits, valued at $40,000, over three years.
Four Native Launchpad Artists will be selected by a panel of six Indigenous performing arts professionals from across the country. In addition, a cohort of up to ten AIP Fellows will be invited to access professional development and networking resources through the program.
Please see the application Guidelines and FAQs pages for information on eligibility requirements and application process. For additional support and questions please contact AIP Program Manager, Ed Bourgeois.
Native Launchpad and the Advancing Indigenous Performance program are made possible by a lead grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and additional support from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and Native Arts & Cultures Foundation.
