My writing is influenced by my upbringing on the Rez; a world with natural sights and sounds. The eastern sunrise greeted my family with protection in the ‘beauty way’ just for the day. Along our trails were traditional women and men riding into the mountains and valleys to tend to the livestock and the land. The sounds of the drum continue to beat in my memory. Everywhere, there was sound, and the sound was beauty. Indigie Femme has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. We have a great time singing and performing, bringing in spiritual forces; ancestors, and the influences through conditioning of cultural her/history. I believe this is my life’s walk; to rise, to be resilient and recover through music, storytelling, and performance as an empowered Two Spirit Diné woman!
