SHOWCASING AT WAA

Showcases at WAA provide presenters and other attendees the opportunity to see exceptional talent and artists the chance to present their work directly to programmers. From the Juried Showcase program of member/colleague adjudicated performances, to independently produced showcases in the conference hotel, WAA showcases offer something for every aesthetic, interest, and budget.

INDEPENDENT SHOWCASES

Our Independent Showcase program enables agents, managers, and artists to produce their own showcases and bring that work directly to presenters and other conference attendees within designated Independent Showcase hours.

2024 Independent Showcasing Hours

August 26 | 9:30pm - Midnight

August 27 | 7:45pm - 11:15pm

August 28 | 7:45pm - 11:15pm

WAA will only publish listings for showcases within the above hours.

Unlike the Juried Showcase, artists do not apply to showcase independently.  Independent showcases are available to anyone, provided they follow these simple policies:

  • Artists who have agents or managers: Your agent/manager must be a WAA members in good standing who registers for, and attends, the conference.

  • Self-represented Artist: You, yourself, must become a member of WAA and register to attend the conference. You can learn about WAA membership here. Questions? Please reach us here.

  • Independent showcases must take place within the officially designated hours.

Usually, independent showcases can (and do!) take place on-site at the hotel or off-site, in nearby venues. This year, given the hotel location, we’re recommending that showcases stick to on-site.

As usual, WAA has partnered this year with some of our members who will coordinate or produce independent showcase rooms in the conference hotel. If you or your artists are interested in showcasing in the conference hotel, please contact our showcase room coordinators directly for availability and with questions.

We also highly recommend that anyone considering an independent showcase read our Independent Showcase FAQs.
