Perform in the Hyphen+Asian Showcase at WAA 2023
Call for Applications! Deadline: Thursday, July 20 at 5pm PT
Hyphen+Asian — WAA’s Asian-American, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian (AAPINH) affinity group — is accepting applications for the Hyphen+Asian showcase taking place on Tuesday, September 5 — part of the 2023 WAA Annual Conference Independent Showcase program.
Hyphen+Asian aims to represent the broad diversity of AAPINH performance. A broad set of criteria will be considered in the selection of artists in order to exemplify a balance of geographies and cultures, traditional and innovative practices, genres, and perspectives.
Up to 12 artists/ensembles will be selected. There is no application fee; no performance fee will be paid.
The deadline to apply is 5pm PT on July 17. DEADLINE EXTENDED: Thursday, July 20
Regular Independent Showcase policies apply: artists/acts must be WAA members attending the conference, or be represented by a WAA member agent/manager attending the conference, in order to perform in the showcase. Learn more about the Independent Showcase program here.
